In a letter to the election commission, the haryana bjp requested that the october 1 assembly elections be rescheduled due to vacations that fall on and around that date. The congress took offense at the BJP's appeal, claiming that the saffron party had conceded defeat. Former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda made this claim.

In a letter to the election commission, haryana bjp chairman Mohan Lal Badoli stated that people's vacation schedules typically fall in the week before and after october 1st, which may have an effect on the proportion of voters. He requested a fresh date be set by the poll body.

A member of the BJP's state election management committee, Varinder Garg stated, "We have reasoned that the assembly election date of october 1 is preceded by a holiday on the weekend and followed by some holidays which may hit the voting percentage as people tend to go on vacation on long weekends which are followed by holidays."

For many people, Saturday, september 28, is a holiday, but sunday is also a holiday. In the state, october 1 is a holiday designated for voting, and october 2 is gandhi Jayanti. On october 3, Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti is observed as a holiday, he added.

Pankaj Agarwal, the state chief electoral officer, verified that the election commission had a copy of Badoli's letter via email on Friday. "We have received the communication from state bjp and forwarded it to the election commission," he stated to PTI.

Badoli wrote to the election commission to request a modification in the election date because of the prolonged holidays in haryana, chief minister Nayab Singh saini stated.

"In order to boost the vote percentage, our bjp state president, Mohan Badoli, has written to the poll Commission requesting a change in the poll schedule while consulting with other political parties. This letter was produced in order to prevent the vote percentage from declining because there are constant holidays, according to Saini.
