The police have taken action in the case of firing on an nri in amritsar, Punjab. police on sunday (August 25) arrested five people, including the father of the victim's first wife, in connection with the incident. Efforts are being made to nab the two criminals who shot Sukhchain Singh, who had recently returned from the US. The incident took place on Saturday, when the criminals shot the nri inside his house. According to the information, the attackers stopped Sukhchain Singh when he was leaving his house in Daburji village on the outskirts of the city for a morning walk on Saturday. The miscreants entered his house and fired three bullets at him before fleeing.

According to the police, he is said to be out of danger. amritsar police Commissioner Ranjit Singh Dhillon said, "The attack on Sukhchain Singh was carried out on the orders of his first wife's family. His first wife had committed suicide in december 2022 and her family had nurtured enmity against him."

The police officer further said, "Two criminals, Sukhwinder alias Sukha and Gurkirat Singh alias Guri, were given a contract to kill Sukhchain Singh. We are after the attackers. Those arrested include Sarwan Singh, father of Sukhchain Singh's first wife and a resident of Bains village in Hoshiarpur."


The attackers stayed in the hotel before the incident

The police Commissioner said, "Jagjit Singh and Chamkaur Singh of Tarn Taran, who helped the attackers before committing the crime. Hotel owner Digambar Atri and hotel manager Abhilash bhaskar provided accommodation to the attackers without asking for ID proof.'' According to the police, the attackers stayed at Atri's hotel before and after committing the crime. nri Sukhchain Singh was shot dead in front of his wife, mother and his two children from his first marriage. Footage from CCTV cameras installed inside the victim's house shows his wife, mother and children pleading with the attackers to let them go. Special DGP RN Dhoke (Internal Security) met Sukhchain Singh's family on Saturday.
