Gujarat Rain:IMD issued a red Alert:

The india Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for gujarat due to exceptionally heavy rainfall that has caused widespread flooding in several districts. The alert, announced on Monday, warns of continued heavy rain over the next two to three days as a deep depression moves from east Rajasthan towards Saurashtra. The IMD has identified gujarat as a high-risk zone for flash floods, with significant impacts already reported in Valsad, Tapi, Navsari, Surat, Narmada, and Panchmahal.

Chief minister Bhupendra patel held an emergency meeting in Gandhinagar with officials to address the crisis, focusing on preventing loss of life and livestock and prioritizing rescue operations.

According to the Chief Minister's office, 17,827 people have been evacuated and 1,653 rescued. The state has deployed 13 NDRF teams and 22 SDRF teams to assist with relief and rescue efforts.

Due to severe waterlogging, Gujarat’s education minister Praful Pansheriya announced that all primary schools will be closed on Tuesday.

Baroda recorded the highest rainfall in the state from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm on Monday, with 26 cm of rain. ahmedabad received 10 cm during the same period. Over the last 24 hours, rainfall was reported in 244 talukas across 33 districts, averaging 63.36 mm.

In Morbi district's Halvad taluka, seven people were swept away by water overflowing from roads in a trolley tractor. Despite ongoing search efforts by NDRF and SDRF teams, they have not yet been found.

Around 280 residents from low-lying areas in Bharuch city were relocated to safety after nearly 4 lakh cusecs of water were released into the narmada river from the Sardar Sarovar Dam. The high water discharge and persistent rain have pushed the river's water level above the danger mark near Bharuch.
