Hema Malini Shines at Janmashtami Event 

Veteran actress and accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer hema malini recently captivated audiences with a special performance in mathura to celebrate Janmashtami. At the event, she portrayed Yashoda, the mother of Lord Krishna, showcasing her exceptional skills in the traditional dance form.

The event, held at the Panchajanya Auditorium in mathura, was inaugurated by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. It featured the launch of a new sanskrit program and the foundation stone laying for various schemes. A notable highlight of the evening was the inauguration of the Panchajanya Rangmanch, a new theater named to honor its cultural and historical significance.

Hema Malini explained the choice of the name ‘Panchajanya,’ highlighting its deep historical roots. She noted, “Panchajanya is a name imbued with profound purity. Lord krishna was given this name after his victory over Shankasur. We chose this name for the theater with the hope that the music performed here will bless the entire nation.”

A revered figure in both the film industry and politics, hema malini has been a prominent Bharatanatyam performer since childhood. Her dedication to the art form extends to her family, as she has also taught Bharatanatyam to her daughters, Esha and Ahana, who frequently join her in performances. Known for her roles in iconic bollywood films such as Dream Girl, Sholay, and Seeta Aur Geeta, hema Malini’s contributions to both cinema and classical dance continue to be celebrated.
