By the end of next week, the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the polavaram project may be approved by the Council of Central Ministers. Meetings of the Council of Ministers are scheduled for august 27 and 28. It is anticipated that Polvaram's DPR would be approved at these sessions.

According to the DPR, the project's first phase will cost a total of Rs. 30,426.95 crore. The polavaram project Committee, Union Jal shakti, Technical Support Unit, Revised Cost Committee, and Investments Approval Committee have all granted DPR permissions thus far. For present, just the Council of Ministers' agreement is required. The Union Finance Ministry will present this DPR to the Ministers Council in accordance with directives from the Prime Minister's Office.

Andhra Pradesh Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu met with Union minister of Jal shakti of India, CR Patil, during his recent visit to Delhi, where he placed a specific emphasis on the clearance of Polavaram's DPR. He also spoke about the same topics with Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and prime minister Narendra Modi. The central government would transfer Rs. 12,157.53 crore in the event that the DPR is authorized, as the remaining sum has already been refunded.
