In two different engagements on wednesday in the Kupwara area of kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>jammu and kashmir, at least three terrorists were killed, according to authorities. Two terrorists were gunned down in Kupwara's Tangdhar area and two more were killed by the security forces in an encounter, according to the indian Army's Chinar Corps.
 
After militants were detected in the Tangdhar region, security forces began a large operation on the intervening night of august 28–29. Afterwards, when the vigilant soldiers of the 57 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) identified two or three militants in the Machil region, another operation was started.

In the Rajouri district's Lathi hamlet, where three to four terrorists were rumored to be hiding, a third encounter broke out between security personnel and militants.
 
"On the intervening night of august 28–29, indian Army and kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>jammu and kashmir police launched a Joint anti-infiltration Operation in general area Tangdhar, Kupwara, based on intelligence inputs regarding likely infiltration bids." In a post on X, the Chinar Corps of the indian Army stated that "one terrorist is likely to have been neutralized."
 
"Based on intelligence inputs with respect to likely infiltration bids, a Joint Operation was launched by indian Army & kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>jammu and kashmir police on the intervening night of 28-29 Aug 24 in general area Machhal, Kupwara. Suspicious movement was observed in bad weather and was engaged with effective firing by own troops; two terrorists are likely to have been neutralised. The operation is in progress," it added.
Regarding the encounter in Rajouri, a kashmir - SRINAGAR/JAMMU' target='_blank' title='jammu and kashmir-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>jammu and kashmir official stated, "A search operation was launched by security forces in the general area of village Kheri Mohra Lathi and Danthal in Rajouri district at 9.30 pm on wednesday night (following suspected terrorist movement)."
 
The spokesman stated that at around 11:45 p.m., during the search operation, contact was made with terrorists, which resulted in a gunfight between the militants and security personnel close to the Kheri Mohra region.
 
According to the spokesman, security personnel also used a few tracer bullets to light up the area.

According to the official, two or three terrorists are holed up in the cordon area. To bolster the cordon and the operation, more soldiers have been dispatched to the scene.
 
The clash between militants and security personnel occurred before of Jammu and Kashmir's assembly elections, which are scheduled for three dates: september 18, september 25, and october 1. On october 4, results are anticipated to be announced.
