The women in cinema Collective (WCC) has received public recognition from samantha Ruth Prabhu for their unwavering pursuit of justice and provision of a respectable working environment for women in the malayalam film industry. The well-known actress acknowledged the importance of the ladies of the WCC's protracted struggle and shared her appreciation and thanks for them on her instagram stories.

Following the release of the hema Committee report, the WCC—a potent group that promotes gender parity in the film industry—has attracted a lot of attention. This 235-page book, which has caused a political uproar in kerala, revealed horrifying examples of discrimination, drug and alcohol misuse, unlawful prohibitions, sexual exploitation, and salary inequality in the malayalam film business. The committee's objective was to research the difficulties encountered by women in the sector. It was established by the kerala government in response to a petition that the WCC filed in 2017. Despite being finished in december 2019, the report's sensitive substance was kept under wraps.

Samantha sent a poignant post praising the WCC for their bravery and tenacity on her instagram account. "I stand with all the ladies in the WCC. Many people, including me, have been inspired by your battle for justice," she said, praising the collective's tenacity in promoting a polite and safe work environment for women in the film industry. Her remarks struck a deep chord with the movement's adherents and boosters, intensifying the discourse surrounding gender concerns in the entertainment sector.
