Barry Stanton (@barrystantonGBP), an anonymous social media user who gained notoriety for his racist remarks and outbursts against indians and indian immigrants, had his X account terminated on Friday. Hundreds of angry indians highlighted Stanton's posts, prompting action. Some even criticized X owner Elon Musk for not removing the account.

Memes and heated discussions over the account's suspension erupted on X. On friday morning, one of the top trends on X was the hashtag "suspended".
Stanton, who has over 1.8 lakh followers on his verified profile, has posted several memes and cartoons showing people in india urinating in public. He also praised a post on X on how to drive indians away from "white neighborhoods". Several hateful and abusive posts against Jews and Africans have also been posted from the handle.

Akshit Singh, an X user, posted that he had reported the Barry Stanton account to the UK High Commission in india as well as ashwini Vaishnaw, the minister of Information and Broadcasting. He requested that the actions of the 'Barry Stanton' X account be looked into.

"This account has been engaging in the propagation of hate speech and offensive remarks that target individuals based on race and nationality," his complaint stated.

A different commenter said, "The gates of hell have been opened by Musk." In fact, it has been demonstrated that racist comments about indians are being promoted by the present X algorithm."
