Hurun india Rich List 2024 was made available on Thursday. The names of the richest individuals in india are included in this yearly list, along with an estimation of their worth calculated from their earnings. Even though the fortunes of billionaires like mukesh ambani and gautam adani changed, a lot of celebrities from the entertainment industry were also included on the list, which was undoubtedly the highlight of the list. The identity of the wealthiest woman in the entertainment industry caught me off guard: she is an indian actress, despite not having made history at the box office in decades.

In 2024, there were 1,539 persons on the list, which includes indians with a net worth of more than Rs 1,000 crore, an increase of 220. The greatest estimated net worth of any indian entertainment celebrity, actor Shah Rukh Khan, made his debut on the list with an estimated net worth of Rs 7300 crore. However, Juhi Chawla, his erstwhile co-star and business partner, trailed him. Juhi is currently without a doubt the richest actress in india and among the richest people in the world, with a reputed net worth of Rs 4600 crore.

In the 1990s, Juhi was a leading actress in the hindi cinema business. She dominated the box office in the 1990s with successes like Bol Radha Bol, Darr, Loafer, and Ishq following her breakthrough in Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. However, the actress transitioned to supporting roles in films around 2000. She has collaborated with Shah Rukh on movies, first via Dreams Unlimited and currently through red Chillies Entertainment.

This explains why Juhi is wealthy despite the fact that she hasn't had a successful box office film since 2009 (when Luck By Chance debuted). She also has an investment in red Chilles Entertainment and is a co-owner of the Knight Riders cricket team. Juhi has been able to outpace other indian actresses, including deepika padukone (Rs 400 crore), katrina kaif (Rs 240 crore), aishwarya Rai (Rs 900 crore), priyanka chopra (Rs 850 crore), and alia bhatt (Rs 550 crore). These actresses were not included in the Hurun Rich List.
