You would most likely never fish again if you saw this beast swimming past one day when you were out on the water.

This is due to the bizarre nature of this small fish.

Jason Moore most likely didn't anticipate coming across anything that could rip his finger off his or any other little body part as he was searching for a place to catch chub in the River Exe in Devon.
After catching sight of the unusual creature, the 47-year-old decided to investigate more. If it doesn't terrify you, I don't know what will. Turns out, it was something like the sandworm in Dune.

The fish has a lengthy, slug-like body and an open mouth with razor-sharp teeth all around.

Moore was interested in the finding and thought it was "amazing," even if many of us would have sent it into space where it would never be seen again on Earth.

"I was looking for rocks and snags and tree overhangs where the chub live, just trying to figure out where I was going to go fishing next," he said in an interview with Pen News.

It was on the edge of the water, in the water. I thought, "Wow, that's incredible—look at that size!" "Let's extract it and examine it."

Moore had, it turned out, discovered a lamprey.

This peculiar species is called "vampire fish" because it has a reputation for consuming its prey's blood.

You can understand how it might utilize its teeth to cling onto passing fish or tiny animals, given its resemblance to a big leech.

Moore chose to post it on the facebook group for naturalists to showcase his find rather than become really alarmed.

Some drew comparisons between it and the sandworm in the popular science fiction film, while another individual described how he was bitten by one nine years ago and the mark was still giving him nightmares.
