The Me Too Movement's comeback is causing trembling in the malayalam film industry. This occurred following the study of the hema Committee, which was established to evaluate the effects of male filmmakers on female cinema employees, indicating that female actors and employees are in fact impacted by the "commitments" that males require of them. Coincidentally, Kerala's chief minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, has begun working on the case personally as a Special Investigation Team led by female IPS officer Sparjan Kumar is about to be put into service. This group will provide further information on the mistreatment of women in malayalam movies.

Ranjith, the chairman of the malayalam Film Academy and a filmmaker, resigned from his position lately, allegedly mistreated a bengali actress when he approached her about a 2009 film deal. The Me Too movement in the Malayali film industry has had such severe consequences that the state's chief minister had to respond. This is the reason behind the SIT's commissioning on this case.

Interestingly, a number of Mallu actresses have started speaking up about difficult experiences they had in the film business. One may consider this to be a new stage in the Me Too movement.
