America is proud to be a secular state that upholds the freedom of religion for everyone. But what about American society—can we claim the same? A film has surfaced that promotes the idea that America's conservative Christian society is unable to accept the existence of any other faith. A massive statue of Hanuman was recently unveiled on the grounds of a temple located in Texas. Among the Hindu American population, this is one of the biggest religious monuments in the country, and it inspired happiness and festivity.

But not everyone is fond of the statue, and a Christian group staged a demonstration in opposition to it. They are said to have prayed for the unbelievers' "downfall." There are reports that 15 to 20 members of the Church group harassed temple visitors after breaking into the premises. One of the major immigrant groups in the united states is made up of indian Americans. However, the largest tax-paying community in the nation is made up of indian Americans. Despite their enormous contributions to every discipline, they continue to be viewed in this manner.

It is past time for the US to see that their own secularism lacks the characteristics they want the rest of the world to uphold.
