Shekhar home aims to reinvent the Sherlock Holmes genre by placing his beloved detective novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in an indian context. Though it was created by indian BBC studios and took inspiration from the british Sherlock Holmes, the series finds it difficult to maintain the same intensity and distinctive style, yet it still makes for an enjoyable watch.

The six-episode series, which is set in the fictional West bengal village of Lonpur, stars kay kay menon as the quirky detective Shekhar and ranvir shorey as his devoted sidekick Jayvrat. The program chronicles their exploits as they solve a variety of mysteries, including robberies, murders, and paranormal activity. The storyline, which is based on the ideas of the classic Sherlock Holmes novels, centers on solving sinister and challenging cases. The show's execution is erratic, though. The show's beginning is plodding, and it doesn't do a good job of introducing the characters' personalities and dynamics.

The first few episodes seem a little rushed and jerky. The murders themselves aren't complicated enough to keep readers interested, and the investigators' nontraditional approaches seem a little implausible. A bank theft, a lady looking for atonement, a family dispute, and a greed-driven serial murderer are just a few of the cases that are covered in the first four episodes.

These are mediocre episodes, but later in the show, they set up an incredible turn of events. With captivating drama and greater character development, the last episodes provide an amazing reward that culminates in a dramatic conclusion connected to national security and Rabindranath Tagore's writings. Shekhar home is viewable all around. Its uneven midsection and plodding beginning are made up for by an amazing finale and Kay Kay Menon's powerful performance, making the four hours spent watching well worth it. jio Cinema is currently streaming Shekhar Home.
