Over 17,000 people have been evacuated from various sections of andhra pradesh and telangana, and at least 19 people have perished as a result of the unceasing rain that is wreaking havoc on the states and causing massive floods. There have been over 140 train cancellations and several divertions.
 
A low-pressure system that caused the severe rain and flooding has resulted in road closures, cutting off many towns and trapping hundreds of people.
 
Inquiring about the situation in both states, prime minister Narendra Modi talked with the chief ministers of andhra pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu, and telangana, revanth Reddy. As additional rain is predicted in the next several days, he reassured them that the Center will assist them in any way possible.


• Of the 19 casualties, 10 were reported from telangana, while nine were from Andhra Pradesh. According to news agency PTI, three additional persons are said to have perished in the Andhra floods, while one person is reported missing in Telangana.

• Nearly 6,000 people are left stranded at various stations as a result of the South Central Railway's (SCR) 140 train cancellations and 97 train divertions.

• National and state disaster relief teams are still conducting rescue operations in andhra pradesh, where over 17,000 people have been evacuated. More than 2.76 lakh individuals have been impacted by the extreme flooding that occurred in vijayawada alone.
 

• In their conversations with N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of andhra pradesh, and revanth Reddy, the home minister of telangana, prime minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister amit shah promised them all the assistance the federal government could provide in dealing with the rains and floods.

hyderabad too saw strong rainfall, and the city's waterlogged numerous areas due to the overnight downpour. september 2 is designated as a vacation for all schools in the hyderabad district due to the prediction of additional intense rainfall.

• Roads in both states were either completely wrecked or completely flooded, cutting off access to several locations. Traffic on the national highway that connects Andhra and telangana was further hampered by the damage that the floods caused to a bridge close to the border.
