A large amount of ganja, ganja oil, and other illegal items were found in the homes of approximately 500 residents of the gated community Abode Valley in Potheri, near Guduvancherry. The majority of the residents were students attending SRM college in Kattankolathur. The police team carried out a massive surprise check on the community, consisting of at least 1,000 police officers.
Nine college students and an unruly person were taken into custody by tambaram police for smuggling ganja and other illegal goods.
