India's National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval reached Sri Lanka's capital Colombo on a two-day visit. During this, he participated in the Colombo Security Conference (CSC). Ajit Doval's arrival is considered very important before the presidential election to be held on 21 september in Sri Lanka. Doval, who came to attend the 'Colombo Security Conclave', also met President Wickremesinghe, prime minister Dinesh Gunawardene, main opposition leader Sajith Premadasa and Marxist JVP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

They discussed the ongoing economic cooperation between sri lanka and India. The PMD said that Sagala Ratnayake, Senior Advisor to the President on National Security, also attended the meeting.
