A low-pressure center formed over the Bay of bengal a few days ago has turned into a high-pressure area. Therefore, Odisha, Andhra, telangana, and other states have been receiving heavy rains for the past few days. The Meteorological Department has informed that these three states have received the highest rainfall in the last 50 years. Till september 2 (yesterday), Andhra's Guntur, Amaravati, mangalagiri Babatla, and vijayawada areas were lashed by heavy rains. As a result, many roads and railway lines have been cut off, and traffic has been affected to a great extent. About 140 trains passing through these three states have also been canceled. Also, due to this heavy rain, 13,000 people living in more than 290 villages from about 5 districts have been safely rescued and sheltered in safe places.
The death toll has risen to 19 so far. Speaking to the chief ministers of the two states on the phone yesterday, indian Prime minister Narendra Modi gave them courage and announced that the central government is ready to provide all assistance to recover from this difficult situation. Meanwhile, celebrities from the film industry have also started donating funds to both states. In this case, popular telugu film actor Jr. ntr has donated Rs.50 lakh each to the relief fund of Andhra and telangana Chief Ministers for flood relief work. Similarly, the makers of 'Kalki 2898 AD' have also contributed Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister's relief fund.
