It is common knowledge that mukesh and Nita Ambani reside in one of the priciest homes on the planet. Their residence in Mumbai, Antilia, on Altamount Road, is an edifice valued around Rs 15000 crore. But did you know that there is another home with almost 1700 rooms and 257 bathrooms that is supposedly the largest in the world?

We are discussing Hassanal Bolkiah's Royal Palace. He has been the sultan of brunei since 1967 and the prime minister since the country's independence from the united kingdom in 1984. One of the few absolute kings in history, Hassanal Bolkiah ascended to the Muslim nation's throne in 1967 and is reported to be worth a staggering $30 billion (more than Rs 3000 crore).

The world's largest mansion, the Istana Nurul Iman Palace, is the opulent residence of Hassanal Bolkiah. It is close to Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. The palace is listed in the Guinness World Records book because it is so large that it appears to be a city unto itself.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah lives in a palace spread over an area of 2 million square feet.

This home is in brunei and was constructed 40 years ago for over Rs 12000 crores. It is owned by the sultan of brunei and is known as Istana Nurul Iman.

The Ayala Corporation built the palace, which was designed by british interior designer Khuan Chew and Filipino architect Leandro V. Locsin.

The palace contains 1,788 rooms, 257 bathrooms, and a banquet hall that can accommodate 5,000 people. It is situated on 2 million square feet. In addition, it features 110 garages for the Sultan's 7,000 automobiles, which are estimated to be worth $5 billion, and 200 air-conditioned horse stalls. In addition, Istana Nurul Iman features 18 elevators, 44 stairwells, 51,000 lightbulbs, and 564 chandeliers.

As the biggest palace in the world, Istana Nurul Iman Palace is included in the Guinness World Record. This exquisite castle has 22-carat gold covering its dome. In addition, the prime minister's office and the government of brunei are located there.

With the exception of the annual Islamic holiday known as Eid-ul-Fitr, the palace is closed to the general public. The world's largest residential palace and the largest single-family home ever constructed is Istana Nurul Iman. Istana Nurul Iman is now regarded as the "world's largest residential palace" by Guinness World Records. At now, the palace's estimated worth exceeds Rs 2,550 crores.
