Mr. Bachchan: The Only Hope is the result of the collaboration of telugu film actor ravi teja and filmmaker harish shankar (Jigarthanda, Gaddalakonda Ganesh). But the film was a huge box office disaster, resulting in significant losses. According to reports, ravi and Harish chose to reimburse a portion of the earnings following the movie's financial setback to relieve the producers of some of their financial strain.

Harish and ravi have willingly chosen to return a portion of their compensation, as reported by Hindustan Times. A confirmed source was cited by the publication, stating that "Ravi teja has returned Rs 4 crore and harish shankar has returned Rs 2 crore from their compensation." Although they weren't asked for it, they were disappointed with the movie's box office performance since they had high expectations for it. They decided to ease the producers' load."

The official reimagining of ajay Devgn's raid (2018) is called Mr. Bachchan. On august 15, the film was released in theaters, competing with puri Jagannadh's Double iSmart. Critics and the general public, however, gave the movie bad reviews when it first came out. According to Sacnilk, the movie was a commercial flop, earning just Rs 13.50 crores globally.
