The delhi High court has received a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking the prohibition of the Netflix series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack. leader of the "Hindu Sena," surjit singh Yadav, is leading the petition, which claims that the show misrepresents the hijackers from a 1999 airline hijacking.

According to Surjit Yadav, the show misrepresents the terrorists' true identities—that they were Muslims—and substitutes their names with names connected to Lord Shiva, offending Hindu religious feelings. The PIL further contends that the show falsifies historical facts and minimizes the significance of the terrorists' release during the hijacking. The series' director reflected the aliases the hijackers used by using pseudonyms such Bhola and Shankar, which are purported to be the names of Hindu deities.

In actuality, the hijackers addressed each other using aliases such as Bhola, Shankar, Burger, Chief, and Doctor. In order to preserve authenticity and authentically depict how the hijackers referred to themselves, the director of the television series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack decided to keep these names. kangana ranaut attacked the OTT series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack on Monday, alleging that its producers were manipulating historical events to further their political agenda.

She bemoaned the lack of regulation around the display of violence and nudity on OTT platforms, whereas nationalistic films are subject to severe restriction. This criticism coincides with the news that her own picture, Emergency, which she directed, has been delayed because of censor concerns. The censor board believes that some of the sequences in Emergency might incite riots and pose a threat to society.

Kangana's position appears contradictory. Actually, the reason she and those advocating for the ban on IC 814 are furious is not that the terrorists were given Hindu names; rather, it's because the series reveals how the cowardly administration led by atal bihari vajpayee freed terrorists in 1999, which ultimately resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Indians. The same individuals who are demanding a boycott of IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack are now asking why kangana Ranaut's Emergency is being withheld from release by the censor board. This reveals their hypocrisy: they attack the censor board's ruling on a movie that was directed by one of their own directors, then they condemn the series for accurately depicting historical events because it goes against their story.
