At the height of his success, akshay kumar earned the moniker "hit machine" in bollywood between 2016 and 2019. He has a track record of hitting the box office, but 2019 was especially notable because he launched four superhits that grossed over 200 crores apiece: Kesari, Housefull 4, Mission Mangal, and Good Newz.

However, following the outbreak, things declined. The box office performance of Akshay's last flicks has been abysmal, with lifetime collections falling short of 35 crores and openers barely breaking 5 crores. Sarfira and Khel Khel Mein, his most recent films, were mediocre at best and failed as well, which is indicative of his continued career downturn.

Together with regular partner Priyadarshan, Akshay is making a comeback to the horror-comedy genre in an effort to reclaim his position. It is anticipated that the movie, which stars kiara advani, Keerthy Suresh, and alia bhatt as the three female characters, would be revealed on september 9, the day he turns 57. It's interesting to note that this project looks a lot like Prabhas' next horror comedy, The raja Saab, which also stars three heroines: malavika Mohanan, Niddhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar.

Speculations over whether Akshay's film is a remake of The raja Saab have been prompted by the film's basic storyline similarities, despite the lack of formal confirmation from the directors. Numerous remake failures, including Bachchan Paandey, Laxxmii, Sarfira, Selfiee, and Cuttputli, have befallen Akshay Kumar.

In an attempt to vent their annoyance, fans have threatened to quit seeing Akshay's movies if he keeps doing remakes. It seems like Akshay is still choosing to take on remake projects in spite of these losses and the unmistakable message from his audience, which raises questions about his future film selections. It remains to be seen whether Akshay can restore his old brilliance with this new project alongside Priyadarshan.
