Devotees have been worshiping this Khairatabad statue for 70 years in the Khairatabad area. This Khairatabad maha Ganapati, which started with a single step, reached up to 70 feet. The Khairatabad statue will be completed 70 years this year. It is in this context that this year Ganapathi is going to give darshan in the form of seven-faced Ganesha with a height of 70 feet. Especially, this Mahaganapati is built with mud every time by the devotees. However, up to one crore rupees are being spent on this statue. This Khairatabad has Ganesha on either side, shiva Parvati as well as srinivasa kalyanam Mandapam.
It is still said that Khairatabad Mahaganapati has a history of seven decades. Actually, in the year 1954, a local devotee named Singiri Shankaraiah worshiped the one-footed Mahaganapati. Ganapati's one step taken in 1954 will now reach 70 feet. As of 2019, this Mahaganapati has reached 61 feet. Khairatabad statue also created history as the tallest statue in India. But since then the devotees have started reducing the height of this statue. Thus, till 2023, a statue with a height of 63 feet was installed. However, in the context of 70 years completed this year, the devotees installed the idol within 70 feet. Lakhs of people come to visit Khairatabad idol.
