The Bengaluru police have taken an autorickshaw driver into custody after a video of him beating and hitting a young woman inside an automobile went viral on social media. The Ola-affiliated driver allegedly lost his cool when the woman canceled the journey. The auto driver was called by the Bengaluru police to be questioned after the pictures went viral, and an investigation has been started.

In response to the event, Chandan Kumar, Assistant Commissioner of police for the Vijayanagar sub-division, gave the victim assurances that the police would file a report, look into the matter, and pursue legal action. ola Support has, in the meanwhile, requested more investigation via the victim's registered email address.

The young woman said that when she canceled her ola ride, she was physically attacked by the driver and suffered great shame. Because of busy hours on september 3, the victim and her friend reserved two vehicles on Ola. The victim got into her friend's car when it was the first to arrive and canceled her trip. The other motorist followed them, and as soon as he stopped the car she was in, he began yelling and swearing angrily.

“The auto driver went on to verbally assault us, questioning whether the auto belonged to my father and making derogatory comments. I began recording, which enraged him further. When I mentioned reporting him, he challenged me, showing no fear of consequences,” the victim stated.

Along with recordings of the ola driver insulting her vulgarly, the victim also claimed that he was forced to wait five minutes after arriving at the location and asked whether her father would cover the gas cost because she had canceled the ride. When the victim urged the driver to stop yelling at her and abusing her, he asked her what else he could do.

The driver of the car pushed the young woman to go see the police immediately after she informed him that she would approach them. The driver of the car is seen grabbing her phone in the footage. He allegedly smacked the victim.
