Indians have a strong enthusiasm for one thing: food. Our culture and food are sources of great pride. This is the reason why an indian meal was falsely claimed to be british in a TasteAtlas article, which infuriated indian internet users. TasteAtlas featured four indian recipes in its list of the top 50 chicken meals worldwide.

However, since they listed the UK as the country of origin for chicken tikka Masala, this number may have gone up to five. Many found it disgusting since it is the most Indian-sounding name for a culinary item! On the other hand, there is considerable disagreement concerning the dish's originality. Claims have been made from many places over who was the first to serve curry with chicken tikka. And the discussion may go on forever.

However, one thing is certain: the dish's name, which originates in the indian subcontinent, is not british, regardless of whether the creator was an immigrant living in britain or an indigenous Indian. In britain, cultural appropriation is nothing new; it has been practiced for many years in many forms. But the british could discover that tampering with indian food is not recommended.
