Sonakshi Sinha and zaheer iqbal Celebrate First ganesh chaturthi Together

Sonakshi Sinha and zaheer iqbal, who married earlier this year amid considerable attention and criticism over their interfaith marriage, have moved past the controversies. The couple, who faced significant backlash and trolling, even had to disable comments on their wedding posts, are now focused on building a harmonious life together. Sonakshi and Zaheer had a civil ceremony, with Sonakshi, a Hindu, choosing not to convert to Islam.

On Sunday, the couple marked their first ganesh chaturthi together, sharing a touching video of the celebration on Instagram. In the video, Sonakshi and Zaheer can be seen performing the aarti and offering their prayers to Lord Ganesha. The caption of the video read, “Love grows in respect, when a couple honors each other’s beliefs in true harmony…Our first Ganpati after shaadi.”

Sonakshi looked elegant in a simple blue salwar suit, while Zaheer wore a coordinated blue and white kurta. They both participated in the aarti, holding the thali and offering their prayers.

The couple chose a modest and private celebration over a traditional multi-day indian wedding. Sonakshi recently shared in an interview with Galatta india that she deliberately avoided the usual elaborate pre-wedding events due to her experience at her brother Kussh’s wedding.

Reflecting on the pressure to have a grand wedding, Sonakshi said, “There was pressure, but we were very clear about the kind of wedding we wanted. If you look back at my brother’s wedding, it was massive, with around 5,000 to 8,000 guests at each function. I told my mother right after that, ‘Meri shaadi waise nahi hogi’ (My wedding won’t be like this).” Kussh Sinha’s wedding to Taruna Agarwal in 2015 was a lavish affair.
