Kangana Ranaut's Fans Outraged After Kunal Kamra Mocks Her as a 'Psychological Thriller'

Comedian Kunal Kamra has sparked anger and disappointment among kangana Ranaut's supporters with his recent comments. On his X account, Kamra poked fun at the actress amid the ongoing controversy surrounding her upcoming film, Emergency. He referred to kangana as a ‘psychological thriller’ and made a sarcastic remark.

“Kangana is the first actress to become a movie genre. You can create a psychological thriller, but kangana herself is a psychological thriller. Congratulations, queen,” he posted. His sarcasm did not sit well with Ranaut’s fans, who criticized the comedian harshly. One user commented, “You’re that Kunal who doesn’t need the Ganjawala title to show how high you are.” Another added, “Kangana’s situation is unfortunate, facing censorship despite being an MP.” A third user highlighted Ranaut's achievements, noting, “Kangana has the remarkable honor of being only the third actress to win consecutive National Awards for Best Actress.”

This incident occurs amid the ongoing issues with Emergency, which has been delayed from its original september 6 release due to pending certification from the censor board. The film has also faced calls for boycott and bans from Sikh organizations, who claim it misrepresents their community. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and the Akhal Takht have demanded an immediate ban, accusing the film of trying to “character assassinate” Sikhs.

Recently, it was reported that the film has received a UA certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with the condition of making three edits and providing factual sources for certain historical quotes. These include statements by US President richard Nixon and Winston Churchill, as reported by The sunday Express.
