Kerala Woman Loses Fiance in accident After Losing Entire Family in Landslide

Kerala Landslide Tragedy: 24-year-old Shruthi, who was still reeling from the loss of her entire family in a devastating landslide in Kerala's wayanad district, faced another heart-wrenching blow when her fiancé, Jenson, died in an accident just days later.

Jenson, 27, was admitted to Dr Moopen Medical college following a serious car crash on september 10. The accident, which involved a head-on collision with a private bus, left him in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries at 8:50 pm on Wednesday. His vital signs had been alarmingly low, with severe bleeding both internally and externally.

Earlier, Shruthi's life was shattered on July 30 when the landslides that struck Chooralmala and Mundakkai villages in Meppadi panchayat claimed the lives of her family of nine, including her parents and younger sister. She lost around Rs 4 lakh in cash and about 15 'sovereigns' of gold, along with her newly-built home, which was washed away in the disaster.

In the midst of her grief, Jenson was her sole support. The couple, who had been engaged since june 2 after a decade-long courtship, had visited the Puthumala graveyard on august 29 to pay respects to her family and reaffirm their commitment to each other.

The tragic accident that claimed Jenson's life occurred just as they were planning a simple court-registered marriage in september, following their initial plans for a december wedding. The couple had been looking forward to starting their life together amid their shared hardships.

Now, Shruthi faces an unimaginable loss, with the support of her fiancé gone and the weight of her recent tragedies still heavy on her heart.
