Eid Shamiana program cancelled, big reason came to light!!!

Bai's prestigious Sufi dargahs, Haji ali and Mahim Dargah have cancelled their pre-scheduled plan to put up a huge Shamiana lounge at J-J Hospital junction on september 19. Sohail Khandwani, managing trustee of the dargahs, said that this decision was taken because the procession of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi will now be held on september 18 and it is not possible to put up a huge tent in such a short time.

Khandwani clarified that this is an important occasion of the year, and earlier the Shamiana was planned to be put up on september 16, which is the birthday of Prophet Mohammad. However, keeping in mind the immersion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Muslim religious leaders and activists shifted the procession to september 18. "We had hoped that the procession would be held on september 19, but since the immersion is going on for a long time, it is not possible to put up such a big tent so soon, so it is being postponed till the next day," Khandwani said.

At a meeting of the Khilafat Committee held at its Byculla office, it was agreed that the procession on Prophet Mohammad's birthday should be taken out the day after the Ganesh Visarjan. Most groups agreed that the procession would be taken out on september 18. Sarfaraz Arzoo, president of the All india Khilafat Committee, said the decision was taken by majority votes. "There were only five people in favour of september 19, so we will naturally go with the majority," he said.

Community groups also agreed that it may be convenient to hold the procession on september 16 or 19. Sohail Khandwani, managing trustee of the Haji ali and Mahim dargahs, said traditionally stalls are set up along the route to showcase Islamic culture, such as calligraphy workshops.
