What will happen to Sitaram Yechury's donated body?

After this, his body will be handed over to AIIMS. Yechury had donated his body to AIIMS as per his wish. But the question is what will be done with his body?

Dr. Reema Dada, professor and media in-charge of the Department of Anatomy at AIIMS Delhi, says, "Sitaram Yechury's family has donated his entire body (for medical research). Body donation is a very pious deed. Under this, the entire body is donated which is used in research and teaching of medical students. First, the body is coated, in which some liquids are injected into the body to preserve it."

How do medical students study dead bodies?

Dr. Reema Dada said that many students learn surgery from donated dead bodies. He said, "Even senior medical students practice on the body before performing any major surgery. We keep 50 to 60 bodies in our tanks, out of which 10-12 bodies are taken out every year to teach medical students. After being used for research and teaching, the bodies are cremated with full rituals at Nigam Bodh Ghat."

'Comrade' Yechury counted among big political figures

Sitaram Yechury was one of the big personalities of indian politics. He was a member of the Politburo of CPM for 32 years. He was the general secretary of the party since the year 2015. Sitaram Yechury has also been a rajya sabha MP from the year 2005 to 2017. A picture of Sitaram Yechury is still very popular in political circles in which he meets indira gandhi as a student leader and demands her resignation.
