Like oil and water, maharashtra and delhi have had a tense relationship for many years. delhi has frequently denigrated maharashtra, from the days of Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj to that of Yashwantrao Chavan and Sharad Pawar.

Throughout history, the administration in delhi has attempted to restrain the authority of the maharashtra kings. National ideology was greatly influenced by individuals like Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Shahu Maharaj, Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj, and mahatma Jyotiba Phule. But when the beliefs of these powerful individuals disagreed with Congress's, the congress party, which ruled for seven decades, frequently silenced them.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the renowned prime minister best known for his book Discovery of India, is a perfect example. Many in maharashtra were incensed by Nehru's depiction of Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj as a "misguided patriot." Nehru ordered the construction of a shivaji statue in maharashtra to calm the populace, and Yashwantrao Chavan was instrumental in this process.

In addition, the congress party has a reputation for trying to discredit Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the man who drafted the indian Constitution, by losing to him twice in lok sabha elections. Comparably, the congress party has continuously disregarded Swatantryaveer Savarkar, a practice that is being carried out by current leaders like rahul Gandhi.

The dynasty politics of congress have always been threatened by Maharashtra's firm ideological position. As a result, the party has regularly attacked the ideas of Maharashtra. For instance, Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj's statues have been dismantled by the Congress-led administrations in madhya pradesh and Karnataka, and there is opposition to both the installation of new statues and the recognition of Shivaji's services.

Congress officials have also spoken disparagingly about the descendants of Chhatrapati shivaji Maharaj. Remarkably, a previous chief minister asserted that Nehru was superior to Shivaji, and Jitendra Awhad and other congress PARTY' target='_blank' title='nationalist congress party-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>nationalist congress party (NCP) politicians have made derogatory remarks against Shivaji's legacy.

Actor Amol Kolhe, who formerly supported the heritage of shivaji Maharaj, has also come under fire for rejecting the name of aurangabad and shooting love scenes on a Shivaji-related fort. Leaders of the maha Vikas Aghadi agree with certain historians who even assert that a dargah at Vishalgad is responsible for the restoration of Shivaji's lineage. The congress party's longstanding disdain for the heroes of maharashtra is indicative of its larger propensity to discredit local pride and historical legacies. Maharashtrians must maintain their resolve and respect their unique cultural history.
