Before Shah Rukh Khan brought bollywood back to life in 2023, it was going through its darkest period in 2022. In 2022, sushant singh Rajput's premature death caused post-Covid problems for bollywood, along with calls for a boycott and negative press. Shamshera, which starred Sanjay Dutt, Vaani Kapoor, and ranbir kapoor and was directed by karan Malhotra and produced by yash Raj Films, was one of the movies that was predicted to perform well. However, the movie proved to be a letdown.

The Khameran, a warrior tribe, were falsely imprisoned at Kaza fort during the time period of Shamshera. Shamshera (Ranbir Kapoor), the main character of the movie, is a brave leader who tries to flee and ensure the independence of his tribe. He fails in spite of his efforts. Twenty-five years later, his son Balli (played in two roles by Ranbir Kapoor) inherits his father's job and is eager to carry out his father's objective and get retribution.

While Shamshera is shown as a fearless and ferocious fighter, his son Balli first exhibits timidity and inexperience until realizing his father's intention and choosing to battle the evil powers in order to exact revenge on them for their father's passing. The trailer for NTR's next action drama, Devara, has just released. Many internet users pointed out that Devara's plot is uncannily similar to Shamshera's after watching the teaser.

Devara, the main character of Devara, is an island ruler who sets out on a quest to help everyone around him. The movie has well-known clichés, such as a strong, courageous father figure and a shy son who develops into a hero. This story is similar to the tale of Shamshera in that the son follows in his father's footsteps to accomplish his objectives. Still, how koratala siva handles the narrative will be crucial. If Devara can deliver a unique and unforgettable experience, it will depend on how action, emotion, and high visual effects are handled, executed, and integrated—regardless of how much the story may resemble Shamshera.
