Many indian youngsters aspire to pursue higher education overseas. indian parents send their kids abroad in the hopes that their kids would have a better life, even if it is a costly endeavor. However, in order to study at a foreign university, prospective students will now need to fulfill certain financial conditions.

International students must demonstrate that they have enough money to sustain themselves while they study in order to be eligible for a student visa, according to a new UK regulation. In London, this sum has increased to £1,483 (about ₹1.64L), whereas in other british cities, it is £1,136 (about ₹1.26L). The implementation of this new legislation on january 2, 2025, will provide challenges for students who are immigrants from India.

An further blow to the indian diaspora comes from Canada's imposition of stricter immigration restrictions in the face of rising housing costs and population growth. Record numbers of indian visas are being denied in Canada, and this new regulation may have the same effect in the UK. Moreover, they will have to wait for the outcomes of the next US elections to see how the immigration policy is developed in the States. With rising living expenses and elections in the US and Canada, it appears that 2025 will be a turbulent year for the indian diaspora.
