100 Days of Modi 3.0: Key Foreign Policy Initiatives

In the first 100 days of the Modi 3.0 government, significant strides were made in foreign policy. President Droupadi Murmu received the Companion of the Order of fiji, the highest civilian award from fiji, highlighting the strengthening ties between the two nations. In a post on X, the President’s office noted her commitment to partnering with fiji for a resilient and prosperous future.

Prime minister Narendra Modi congratulated Murmu on receiving the Grand-Collar of the Order of Timor-Leste, emphasizing the mutual respect and strong connections between india and Timor-Leste.

Key international engagements for PM Modi included pivotal visits to russia and ukraine amid ongoing conflict, participation in the G-7 Summit in Italy, and receiving the ‘Order of St. Andrew the Apostle’ during his visit to Russia. At the G-7 Summit in Japan, Modi met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressing India’s humanitarian support for ukraine and advocating for dialogue and peace. He reiterated India's readiness to contribute to solutions rather than remain a passive observer. In August, Modi made a follow-up visit to Kyiv for further discussions with Zelenskyy.

Notably, Modi's visits to singapore and brunei marked the first time an indian Prime minister has visited these countries. Additionally, he became the first indian Prime minister in 41 years to visit austria and in 45 years to visit Poland.

India also hosted the third ‘Voice of the Global South’ Summit, engaging over 120 countries, and for the first time, organized the UNESCO World heritage Committee meeting.
