17 students in kerala Granted Transfer Certificates After Website Hack
In a surprising incident at Kelappan Memorial government Vocational Higher Secondary school in Tavanur, Malappuram district, 17 students were issued Transfer Certificates (TC) without the principal's knowledge due to a hacking incident involving the state education department's official website.

The matter came to light during a nominal roll inspection for the first-year examination when the principal discovered that the tcs had been issued through the website hscap.kerala.gov.in. The Kuttippuram police have registered a case following the principal's complaint and are now investigating the breach.

The students, who had recently enrolled in the school, were from various streams: three from Commerce, two from Humanities, and twelve from Science. Normally, tcs can only be issued by logging in with the principal's user ID and password, which raises concerns about how this unauthorized access occurred.

The police have enlisted the help of the cyber cell to trace the login source, as only the principal and two other authorized individuals know the login credentials. Preliminary checks are underway to determine if the login was executed externally.

The tcs were issued on different dates in mid-August, citing reasons such as parental requests and enrollment in other schools. The school authorities have assured the affected students that the situation has been reported to the Higher Secondary Directorate and that they need not worry.
