Although koratala manages to keep the tension building until the very end, the introduction of a sequel seems completely needless and lessens the effect of the movie once it leaves the cinema. Putting aside other shortcomings, the main problem that koratala overlooked is that Devara's character doesn't seem strong or menacing enough for the movie. This is why Devara depends so heavily on technical elements like action, background music, and stunning graphics.

We can't say Devara's character failed completely, either; it just doesn't have the substantial design required to support the "fear" element that is essential to the narrative. Because of its grandeur and beautifully crafted action scenes, Devara is worth seeing just once in a theater. Conversely, it adds a needless sequel hook and lacks power from real drama.

Devara (NTR) becomes into a fearsome figure for his fearless troops, but in the process, his identity becomes enigmatic and mysterious, leaving no one to know where he is. The fearlessness exhibited by his father Devara is absent in his son Vara (NTR). The main plot of Devara revolves around why he had to instill terror in his own soldiers and how he ends it.
