In india, television programming began in the 1980s with a strong emphasis on family values and traditional themes. Hum Log and Buniyaad were among the most PG shows available. Only in the past 10 years has some kind of "bold" material started to appear on mainstream hindi television. However, many performers still found it too difficult to deliver on-screen kisses during intimate sequences; in fact, several of them even lost out on jobs as a result of this approach. This current OTT sensation, who has been a well-known face on tv for years, is one such actress.

Since 2018, shruti Sharma has become a regular on hindi television. The actress played an IPS officer in the hit television series Gathbandhan when she made her acting debut. She won the job after placing third in India's Next Superstars competition. Her first bollywood film, Pagglait, and the 2019 telugu film agent sai srinivasa athreya marked her cinematic debuts after this part. But throughout these years, shruti also lost several positions. Speaking with the Times of india recently,

Shruti confessed that she dislikes having kisses or personal moments on TV. "I'll never take a risk on film. Scenes that are bold and personal are totally off-limits to me. That's not something I could perform on screen. She remarked, "I have dropped a lot of projects because I didn't think it was necessary to be so daring or personal in that presentation. But the actress asserts that she is not sorry about her decision.

Shruti debuted on streaming services earlier this year in a supporting capacity on Sanjay Leela Bhansali's first online series, Heeramandi. Shama, the kotha's maid, was portrayed by Shruti. Both fans and reviewers loved her performance and appearance on the show. Many even said that she was superior to Sharmin Segal, the principal actress who played Alamzeb, and that she should have a larger role in the second season. Sharmin, the filmmaker Bhansali's niece, received a lot of backlash and abuse for her role in the production.

Shruti's character has already shared an on-screen kiss in Heermandi. "I was crying after reading the complete script of Heeramandi, as I had kissing scenes," the actress said to TOI. However, after discovering the actress was uncomfortable with the sequence, Bhansali finally took it down. Now that she has had some decent offers on the network, shruti has made hints about making a comeback to TV.
