Angry! Non-Skippable OTT Anti-Tobacco Ads: Is the government Assuming Viewers Are Stupid? The most recent proposal from the Union health Ministry to require non-skippable anti-tobacco advertisements on over-the-top (OTT) platforms is creating a lot of controversy. The draft modifications stipulate that anti-tobacco health ads must be shown at the start and midpoint of all films, regardless of their country of origin or CBFC certification.

These advertisements must last for at least 30 seconds. In addition, the content must broadcast a 20-second audio-visual statement regarding the dangerous effects of tobacco use as soon as it begins streaming. These annoying and useless advertisements on OTT platforms are just a rule. The audience on these sites is far from innocent, and they already provide a wide variety of adult content. It seems like a slight to their brains to make people watch such advertisements.

In this particular setting, smoking isn't even a big deal, yet the government still chooses to interrupt the programming with uninteresting, unskippable advertisements that should never be seen. These constant disruptions ruin the overall viewing experience, which is not only needless but also annoying. Laughable, for sure. Let's see what happens!
