Udhayanidhi stalin Appointed as tamil Nadu deputy cm in cabinet Reshuffle

In a significant reshuffle of the tamil Nadu cabinet, chief minister M.K. stalin has appointed his son, Udhayanidhi stalin, as the new Deputy Chief Minister. This decision was officially announced in a press statement from the raj Bhavan, highlighting Udhayanidhi's expanded role as he retains his position as the minister of sports and youth Welfare while also taking on the additional portfolio of Planning and Development.

Udhayanidhi expressed his gratitude to his father for the opportunity, stating, “We personally met and congratulated the Hon’ble chief minister M.K. stalin for this chance to serve tamil Nadu. The role of Deputy chief minister is not just a title, but a responsibility. We aim to work collaboratively with our fellow ministers under his guidance to uplift the people of tamil Nadu, inspired by the legacies of Periyar and Anna.”

The cabinet reshuffle also sees the re-induction of DMK leader Senthil Balaji, who recently secured bail in a money laundering case tied to an alleged cash-for-jobs scam during his time as the state’s Transport minister from 2011 to 2016. Balaji, currently serving as the mla for Karur, will return to ministerial duties amid ongoing scrutiny.

The reshuffle has led to the removal of three ministers, including Manc Thangaraj, who was responsible for Dairy Development. governor R.N. ravi has formally approved the changes, with a swearing-in ceremony for the new cabinet scheduled for Sunday, september 29, at 3:30 PM at raj Bhavan, Chennai.

The announcement of Udhayanidhi's new role follows hints from chief minister stalin earlier in the week regarding potential changes in the leadership structure, indicating a strategic move to reinforce the DMK's governance in tamil Nadu. The reshuffle reflects ongoing political dynamics within the state, as the DMK aims to solidify its administration and address the challenges ahead.
