According to Sydney Sweeney, her father and grandpa left the room after seeing one of her movies. The 27-year-old initially gained notoriety in 2018 after starring in the television shows "Everything Sucks!" and "The Handmaid's Tale." Since then, she has had a fantastic career, making appearances in films including "Anyone but You" and "The White Lotus."

But as Sweeney all too well knows, there can be a high price to pay for being in Hollywood, particularly when it comes to the representation of sexually explicit roles and your friends and family wanting to support and witness you in action. Sweeney portrayed Cassie Howard in HBO's Euphoria, which was one of her breakthrough performances. The gritty adolescent series, which was set in a fictional Californian high school, addresses several difficult subjects, including drug misuse, revenge porn, and mental illness.

Sweeney's persona appeared in narratives of adultery, abortion, and low self-esteem brought on by hypersexualization. Sweeney stated, "My mum visited me on set quite a few times, so she knew the story," in an interview with NBC's sunday Today last year. My dad was not at all prepared by me. Unbeknownst to Sweeney, her father organized a watching party and invited her grandparents, who were horrified by what they witnessed.

She said: “My dad and my grandpa turned it off and walked out. My grandma… she’s a fan. She’s a big supporter. I bring her all over the world to my different sets and I make her an extra.”
