Religion and politics cannot be allowed to combine, the supreme court ruled monday while hearing three petitions over accusations that pig fat was detected in the ghee used to prepare the laddoos, or devotional gifts, 'fed' to the deity and handed to devotees at Andhra Pradesh's tirupati temple.

The supreme court emphasized in a series of incisive queries and observations that there was insufficient evidence to prove either that the ghee was tainted or, if it was, that the infected ghee was used to manufacture the laddoos. The court also cited a "false positive" testing warning and an ongoing investigation.

The gujarat lab's report from July, which claimed to have identified fish oil, bull tallow, and lard (pig fat) in the ghee, was controversial, and chief minister Chandrababu Naidu's public remarks on the subject were not well received by the court. "When you (the Chief Minister) hold a Constitutional post... we expect Gods to be kept away from politics. If you had already ordered (an) investigation, what was the need to go to the press? The lab report came in July... your statement came in September. (And) the report is not at all clear..."

The andhra pradesh Chief Minister's remarks on september 20, in which he attacked his challenger and predecessor, jagan mohan reddy-Latest Updates, Photos, Videos are a click away, CLICK NOW'>ys jagan mohan reddy, over the purported inclusion of animal fats in tirupati laddoo ghee, clearly infuriated a bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan. netizens started to troll pawan kalyan as he unnecessarily forced karthi to apologize even though he never commented anything and now netizens jokingly question, will PK force supreme court to apologize as well?
