In bollywood, Maddock Films has become a major force, taking on well-known production companies like YRF and Dharma. Maddock was established by Dinesh Vijan, who left investment banking to pursue a career in filmmaking. The company is known for its distinctive narrative and flexibility in responding to the changing needs of the film business.

The first film of Dinesh Vijan's career, Being Cyrus, did not have much commercial success. But he persisted, and in 2008 he and saif ali khan co-founded Illuminati Films, which produced successes including Cocktail and love Aaj Kal. Dinesh Vijan founded Maddock Films in 2014 with the goal of crafting audience-resonant character-driven movies. The production company soon established itself, turning forth catastrophes like Raabta along with somewhat successful movies like Finding Fanny, Badlapur, and hindi Medium.

The foundation of Maddock's approach is his production of high-concept, low-budget movies that encourage genre exploration. With the use of OTT platforms, the studio has been able to reach a larger audience and explore a variety of issues thanks to this strategy. With the huge box office success of stree 2, which brought in around Rs 850 crore, Maddock Films has cemented its position as a major force.

Maddock's films demonstrated their effective production approach by earning over Rs 1,300 crore cumulatively by 2024, while having just a budget of Rs 150 crore. They now stand a real chance of challenging the established bollywood heavyweights. With plans for additional high-grossing films, the future seems bright for Maddock Films as it wants to develop a Rs 5,000 crore empire in the film business.
