You have spoken openly about your own struggles with anxiety and mental health. What advice would you give to those struggling with similar issues?
I used to feel ashamed of my anxiety problems, but I also talked candidly about them since I struggled with them. But the more talk therapy helped me deal with my problems, the more it de-stigmatized them, and the more I spoke about mental health, the more I realized that I wish I had that type of support or assistance while I was going through it to have a better understanding. In my opinion, everyone has distinct needs when it comes to life advice. It actually depends on the patient and their mental health physician whether or not talk therapy is helpful for them. Some people reach a point where medication is necessary.

How do you prioritize self-care in your personal and professional life?
Setting self-care as a priority began with me initially feeling terrible, thinking, "Oh no, will people think I'm not as hardworking or that I'm moody or whatever?" But as time goes on, I really find time for myself to do the small things that bring me joy. I make time for my exercises because they help me stay balanced since they release dopamine, serotonin, and other pleasant chemicals.

It's also extremely evident that I steer clear of circumstances or individuals who I perceive to be negative. I gracefully and quite politely leave the scene. That is also a component of my self-care priority since it is really essential to who and what you surround yourself with. Indeed, in our working lives, we have to deal with a wide range of individuals. However, I always choose to spend my personal time with individuals who are beneficial to me and intend well for me. I spend it with myself as well.

Individuals have a great fear of being alone themselves, whether it be to enjoy activities, dine at a restaurant, watch a movie, or spend time alone. I always believe that I have to be my own best business first, so I do all of these things for myself. I thus give doing activities that make me feel good a high priority.
