Young females in hyderabad are marrying wealthy men from the gulf, a worrying trend that has suddenly become the standard. Most often, it takes place online, where low-income families are seduced by promises of financial stability into marriages that might not be ideal for their daughters. Since the brokers arrange video-conference marriages, the practice has been an "open secret" in hyderabad for years, making it difficult for the government to investigate.
 
Every month, between 20 and 30 such weddings occur between young ladies from hyderabad and wealthy men from the gulf countries, like Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain. Usually, these grooms offer enormous sums of money in return for marrying these young women. Once they arrive in the gulf states, the bulk of these females are taken advantage of and mistreated. Reportedly, women are sent to their spouses on tourist visas after marriage. As a result, they suffer mistreatment.

When the practice had to migrate online due to crackdowns in 2018, things took a further turn for the worst. These days, marriages are frequently consummated via video chats or WhatsApp, making it challenging for officials to track down these marriages. The most important role in promoting these weddings is that of brokers, who disseminate images of young ladies and perform nikah ceremonies by video conference from the back of SUVs.
 
Another example is the 22-year-old Fathima, who consented to wed an older man in order to help her ill grandmother and pay for her sister's college tuition. After the contract fell through, she was offered Rs 2 lakh but was forced to wait for another proposal. Another example is Suhana, who was sent to the gulf after being promised much more money, only to be hired as domestic help for Rs 5,000.
 
Through brokers and visa agents, the procedure also turned into a network of exploitation. Although every effort is being made to legally prohibit the commercial activity, this process is still ongoing. The members are now being urged by the local authorities to take action by requiring close supervision of these brokers and agents. It would be interesting to talk about what happens to young Hyderabadi girls who are married off to wealthy gulf guys. Once more, this illustrates a troubling trend that requires immediate attention in order to safeguard the weak.
