The continuous heavy rains in chennai have affected the city life. It has been raining since last night and continues till this morning. Rain has flooded various parts of Chennai. The reason for this heavy rain is the low-pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal. The depression will move west-northwestward and intensify into a deep depression in the next 48 hours, the Meteorological Department said. Due to this, it is expected to move towards coastal areas of North tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and South Andhra Pradesh.

 In this situation, the Meteorological Department has warned that there may be light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in most parts of tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. In particular, heavy to very heavy rain may occur in a few places in Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, and Karaikal districts and very heavy rain may occur in a couple of places. As people are suffering due to this heavy rain, the district administration has advised to take safety measures. In particular, people living in low-lying areas have been advised to move to safer places and be cautious about electricity-related matters. The Meteorological Department continues to issue rainfall information. The public is requested to monitor the weather forecast regularly and take action accordingly.
