The number of politicians of indian ancestry has significantly increased globally in recent years. Even while it is a source of national pride, the community has regrettably been the target of an outpouring of hate speech on the internet. A recent analysis claims that for the past two years, there has been a rise in anti-South Asian internet activity in the US.

The fact that this surge aligns with the growing popularity of political figures like vivek Ramaswamy and Kamala harris is even more startling. When Kamala harris was announced as the Democratic National Convention's new presidential contender in August, hate crimes against the indian population spiked.

Even rival political figures have made racial remarks against the US Vice President, which is reflected in the votes they have received. For the approximately 5 million Indian-American and non-resident indian (NRI) groups in the US, it is a significant source of worry. They suffer from racism on a daily basis as a result of this mindset.

Many believed that variety would be celebrated via political representation, increasing societal tolerance. Thus, the avalanche of hate speech coming from far-right radicals online is completely disheartening.
