The bugle for assembly elections in maharashtra has been sounded. The election commission has announced voting on november 20 in all 288 constituencies on monday and the result will be declared on november 23 after counting of votes. In this election, a fierce contest will be seen between the Mahayuti alliance and maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in the coastal region including Mumbai.
This time the contest in the coastal region will be interesting because it is going to be between two rival factions of shiv sena divided into two parts. Let us tell you that the mumbai Metropolitan Region is a highly urbanized and industrial area, there are a total of 75 assembly seats and 12 lok sabha seats. The 75 assembly seats of this region play an important role in electing the state government. Let us tell you that in the recently held lok sabha elections, the Mahayuti alliance formed by shiv sena, bjp and ncp had won seven seats in this region. bjp won Palghar, Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg and mumbai North, while NCP's sunil Tatkare won his seat in Raigad for the second consecutive time.

According to news agency PTI, after winning seven seats in the lok sabha elections, the Mahayuti alliance has set a target of winning as many seats as possible from this region in the upcoming assembly elections. Former Union minister Narayan Rane is expected to play an important role for the bjp in the Konkan region. Other key constituencies include thane city and Worli in mumbai, where chief minister Eknath Shinde and shiv sena UBT leader Aditya thackeray are contesting.
This contest is mainly between shiv sena factions, with urban issues like housing and infrastructure at the forefront. It is worth noting that the influence of the maharashtra Congress party has declined in the last few years, especially in mumbai, where the shiv sena UBT has gained ground within the MVA. The 75 constituencies in the mumbai Metropolitan Region include tribal-dominated Palghar with six seats, thane with 18 seats, which includes six seats in thane city, and mumbai with 36 seats. Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts account for 15 constituencies.
