How many people live in extreme poverty? india is No.1..!?

Shocking news has come out that millions of people worldwide are living in extreme poverty. It is shocking that india is at the top. It has been revealed in a report published by the UN that more than half of the children are in particular. Poverty rates are three times higher in areas affected by conflict, including world wars, and sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia, where most of the world's poor live, the report said. A study published by the Oxford Institute for Poverty and Human Development (OPHI) found that by 2023, poverty rates in war-torn countries would have tripled as the world saw the most conflict since World war II.
The United Nations Development Program and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Organization have published their Multidimensional Poverty Index annually since 2010, collecting data from 112 countries with 6.3 billion people. These used indicators such as lack of adequate housing, sanitation, electricity, cooking fuel, nutrition, and school attendance. Among them, according to the poverty index, 1.1 billion people will be in poverty in 2024, and 455 million of them live in the shadow of war, said Yanchun Zhang, chief statistician of the United Nations Development Program. He also said that the struggle for basic needs is the biggest struggle for the poor in conflict-affected countries.
The report found that 1.1 billion people out of 6.1 billion people in 110 countries have been living in extreme multidimensional poverty since last year. Furthermore, these reports showed that approximately 584 million people under the age of 18 were experiencing extreme poverty. This includes 27.9 percent of children and 13.5 percent of adults worldwide. It also shows that 83.2 percent of the world's poorest people live in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. Sabina Algere, director of the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative, said that conflict is hampering efforts to reduce poverty.

Also released in the report, india has the highest number of people in extreme poverty affecting 234 million out of a population of 1.4 billion, followed by Pakistan, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. These five countries are said to have nearly half of the 1.1 billion poor people.
