Union minister Jitan ram Manjhi has made his daughter-in-law deepa Manjhi a candidate from Imamganj seat for bihar by-election. Opposition leaders had taunted on this and said that only family gets tickets in HAM party, because the name of the party is HAM. HAM party was also accused of nepotism. Now Jitan ram Manjhi has posted on monday that deepa Manjhi was not given ticket because she is my daughter-in-law, but because she is a social worker. "She has been the first girl of our society, who was spreading awareness about education among our poor children, apart from all the social fabric".
What did Jitan ram Manjhi say in the post?
Jitan ram Manjhi has posted on his Instagram, "You cannot accuse us of nepotism just by calling deepa Kumari Jitan ram Manjhi's daughter-in-law. I want to tell those people that... "I got Santosh suman married to deepa because she was the first girl of our society who was spreading awareness about education among our poor children, irrespective of all the social fabric. Before I became the Chief minister, deepa had been elected as a member of the Zila Parishad. deepa Kumari was fully active in politics before santosh kumar suman became an MLC or a minister".
The Union minister further wrote - "Whenever the opposition tried to corner the leaders of our nda alliance by putting forward a woman, deepa has given them a befitting reply. Such is "Deepa" who spreads awareness in the society. Now despite this, if someone is accusing me of nepotism by taking Deepa's name, then it shows their distorted mentality".
RJD in direct competition with HAM
Let us tell you that deepa Manjhi is contesting from Imamganj on the basis of the work done by her father-in-law Jitan ram Manjhi, while roshan Manjhi is in the electoral fray from RJD, where RJD is in direct competition with HAM. In the bihar by-election, HAM is contesting on one seat from nda, while RJD is contesting on three seats from the Grand Alliance. In this way, Imamganj seat becomes very important for HAM party.
