Samantha Ruth Prabhu, an actor, looks back on her career with a surprising sense of self-awareness, saying that she has been able to take on these parts recently because she is in the "calmest" stage of her career. With Pushpa's "Oo Antava" song and raj and DK's second season of The Family Man, the actor—who had been one of the top telugu stars since her 2010 debut—branched out to a larger audience.

In their most recent action picture, Citadel: Honey Bunny, she rejoins the filmmaker-duo and plays a courageous spy. samantha talked candidly in an interview with Indianexpress.com about how she is at a point in her career when she is eager to take on more challenging parts, something that was not feasible ten years ago.

I always wanted to study, so when I first started, I had no idea that I wanted to be an actress. It took me several years to overcome all of my fears and "Am I good enough?" thoughts in order to just find my place in this vast universe. It wasn't until a few years ago that I realized I was ready to take on more challenging tasks since up until then, I was concentrating on solidifying my position," samantha remarked.

The actor, who overcame a highly publicized divorce from her actor husband Naga chaitanya in recent years and later disclosed that she had been diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune disease, feels much more in control of her career now and is not letting the "demons" in her head rule her.

It takes a long time. The quietest years of my career have been the last two. In fact, without all the mental devils playing games, I am able to make rational, realistic, and imaginative judgments. Actors who are far more established, know what they want, and have a strong sense of self early in their careers make me envious. I'm genuinely envious.
