India and the US have reached a significant agreement for india to pay almost $4 billion for 31 sophisticated Predator drones. These drones will bolster India's military might, particularly near its borders with china and pakistan, and are renowned for their lengthy flight durations and high altitude capabilities. Additionally, they will improve India's capacity to keep an eye on the indian Ocean Region, a region that is becoming increasingly strategically significant.

The indian Navy will employ 15 of the 31 drones for maritime surveillance, while the army and air Force will utilize the other drones for land-based missions. These drones may be used for both surveillance and assaults since they are outfitted with cutting-edge armaments like precision-guided bombs and Hellfire missiles. They have a 40-hour flight time and a 40,000-foot altitude range.

The drones will be positioned in strategic areas close to China's and Pakistan's borders, like as tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Uttar Pradesh. india will be able to keep an eye on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with china and the Line of Control (LoC) with pakistan as a result. Additionally, the drones will assist in monitoring Chinese naval movements and other activity in the indian Ocean.

Given that they are more sophisticated than the drones employed by nations like pakistan, these Predator drones are viewed as a significant advancement for India. It is anticipated that this agreement would significantly strengthen India's capacity to carry out combat, surveillance, and intelligence operations in important regions of concern.
